Konekt is an atmospheric, tension filled sci fi drama that follows the story of an ordinary woman who has reached an impasse in her life and becomes involved with a mysterious, cutting edge procedure. At its core is the Konektahedron, a unique VR headset capable of reading and digitizing human memories, then recreating them as an explorable virtual world. In this space, the past can be relived, new choices can be made, and every change transforms the user as well.

As the protagonist descends deeper into this world, she realizes that Konekt is not merely a technology promising personal healing, but a secret global movement that, by shaping the human mind, seeks to transform the reality of both its participants and humanity as a whole.

This story is both personal and universal, as within each of us lie memories and secrets that shape who we are, whether we are aware of them or not. The film invites viewers to confront their own inner world and ask the question: Who am I if my past is no longer mine, and what remains within me — my innermost self, my true identity?

The tone and atmosphere of Konekt are inspired by works such as The Matrix, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Black Mirror, yet it presents an entirely original and inventive story to its audience.

As an independent production, it is being made for festivals and cinemas, starring Sára Schmidt, Marina Gera (International Emmy Award, Jászai Mari Award), Viktória Staub (Golden Medal Award), Toma Hrisztov, and Odett Elza Négyesi.

This is not just a film but a thought provoking journey that questions what truly makes us who we are, and whether it is worth rewriting our own story.

PATRICIA TARY
Actress, lead role

Patricia Tary is an actress who graduated from the acting program at the University of Kaposvár. During her university years, she began performing at the Móricz Zsigmond Theatre, where she was a company member until 2024. Since then, she has returned to the theatre as a freelance artist, while also working in Sopron, at the National Dance Theatre, and as part of the KULTUP programme. Her theatre credits include The Cherry Orchard, August: Osage County, The Unexpected Guest, Family Games, Uncle Vanya, Cat’s Play, Szaffi, and El vino de mi sangre. Her film and television credits include A Tanár, Drága örökösök, and Hotel Margaret.

MARINA GERA
Actress

In 2019, she won the International Emmy Award for Best Actress for her leading role in the historical drama Eternal Winter, becoming the first and so far only Hungarian actor to receive this honor. She graduated from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest. Notable works include Eternal Winter, Golden Life, The Basement, Nino bárkája, The Black Spider, Hunyadi. In 2020, she received the Jászai Mari Award. She also works actively in English and German.

VIKTÓRIA STAUB
Actress

She graduated from the University of Theatre and Film Arts. She has been performing on stage since the age of eleven, including appearances at the Pannon Castle Theatre and the Móricz Zsigmond Theatre in Nyíregyháza. Her notable film and television roles include Golden Life, Alvilág, The Game, Hotel Margaret and The King. She is also an active voice actress. In 2022, she won the Golden Medal Award.

TOMA HRISZTOV
Actor

He graduated in acting with a specialization in puppetry from the University of Theatre and Film Arts, after earlier studies at the Pesti Magyar Acting Academy. He has performed at venues such as the Jurányi Incubator House, Trafó, Radnóti Theatre, Hungarian Theatre, Vidám Színpad, Gólem Theatre, and the Budapest Puppet Theatre. Notable roles include Wild Roots, We Started Together, Semmelweis, and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. He performs in international productions in both English and French.

ODETT ELZA NÉGYESI
Actress

She graduated in acting from the Keleti István Art School and is currently a student at the University of Theatre and Film Arts. She has appeared in films such as We Started Together and Poor Things, and has worked as a dancer in productions including Maria and Blockade. Her recent work includes a role in Ponies, as well as appearances in short films such as Gréta, Sweven, and Run.

BALÁZS PÉTER KISS

Balázs Péter Kiss is an actor who first discovered the world of theatre with the Déryné Touring Theatre Company in Kaposvár, where he performed for six years. He then studied for two years at the studio of the Új Színház before taking on roles at the Gózon Gyula Chamber Theatre. Later, he graduated from the acting programme at the University of Kaposvár. He is widely known for his role as Péter Illés in the popular television series Barátok közt. He has also appeared in 200 első randi and Szabadakarat, as well as in stage productions including Tökéletes esküvő, Szeress, ha bírsz!, and Levendulamezők.

SZOFI BERKI

Szofi Berki is an actress who works across theatre, film, and television productions. Her stage credits include both children’s and adult productions, such as Tóték, King Lear, Romeo and Juliet, and The Bremen Town Musicians. Her screen credits include Genesis, A Mentor, Angyaltrombiták, and Mellékhatás. She has also appeared in international productions, including The Witcher and The Fear Index.

Géza Bodor is an actor, director, and translator who has been working in theatre productions for more than two decades. As a freelance artist, he performs with independent theatre companies and is also involved in applied acting, hosting, and improvisation. His stage credits include Closer, Dirty Fred, the Captain, Sublet Under the Table, and Say It’s Oak. He is known on television for his role as Krisztián Budai in Jóban Rosszban, and appeared in the feature film Dear Elza!

Klára Német is an actress who studied acting at the University of Kaposvár—now the Rippl-Rónai Faculty of Arts at MATE—between 2019 and 2024. During her university years, she appeared in several short films and graduation projects, including a leading role in Korai menyegző. Alongside her theatre work, she also performs in productions at the Jászai Mari Theatre. Her notable credits include Marsra magyar!, A mi kis falunk, Lepattanó, Gloria, Whose Life Is It Anyway?, Crime and Punishment, and Főfőnök.

Dénes Gere is an actor who graduated from the drama programme at the Ady Endre Secondary School in Debrecen before earning his acting degree from the University of Kaposvár in 2007. From 2007 to 2012, he was a member of the Petőfi Theatre company in Veszprém. He later performed at the Vígszínház, the Katona József Theatre in Kecskemét, and the Spirit Theatre. His notable screen and stage credits include Jóban Rosszban, Drága örökösök, Mintaapák, Berlin Station, Shadow and Bone, Kéretik elégetni, Az álomkommandó, and A hetvenkedő katona.

Balázs Kovács is an actor and a member of the Móricz Zsigmond Theatre company in Nyíregyháza since 2021. He has appeared in numerous musical and straight plays and regularly performs in productions for children. LUCA TÓTH

Luca Tóth is a child actress and a student at a Budapest drama school. She gained early stage experience in smaller-scale productions as Barabás in The Paul Street Boys, and as Kaa and a wolf in The Jungle Book. She also made her debut on a larger stage with her own singing and dance performance at the FMK spring school gala. She played Little Rami in the musical Starfactory at the Szabó Dezső Theatre and also appeared in the family documentary series A történetünk (Our Story). Most recently, she successfully advanced through the Hungarian Theatre’s nationwide, multi-stage casting process for child performers and was selected for the theatre’s specialised children’s professional camp.

Ádám Krupa is a stunt performer and actor, and a member of Stunt Association Hungary. He has worked with stunt teams on both Hungarian and international productions, including Borderlands, Fight or Flight, The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die, Hadik, and Tündérkert. As an actor, he has appeared in Égig érő álmok, Az Ostrom: Arkangyal Egyes, and the University of Theatre and Film Arts’ graduation film Second Unit.

BÁLINT VIGH
Director, writer, producer

His first short film Álmokfutás won Best Short Film at the Tagore International Film Festival. His second short, Neurodance, is currently competing at film festivals. He has directed numerous music videos, including Dennie Wander – Devil On My Shoulder. He was the producer of the award-winning Anglo-Hungarian co-production short film Progeny. He has also worked on several Hungarian short films as a camera operator, editor, and assistant director.

KRISZTIÁN MARÁCZI
Cinematographer, producer

With over 15 years of experience in the film industry, he has worked as a director, cinematographer, and gaffer. He has directed and shot numerous music videos, including Meteora – Slave of Creation, which has been viewed over 100,000 times on YouTube. He was also the producer of the award-winning Anglo-Hungarian co-production short film Progeny. He is currently developing his first feature-length documentary.

PÉTER MÉSZÁROS

With more than 14 years of experience in the film and advertising industry, he has worked as a production manager and as a member of camera teams. Throughout his career, he has primarily contributed to Hungarian productions, while also gaining significant international film experience. His work includes music videos and commercials alike. He has also contributed to an Academy Award-winning production, further broadening his international perspective and professional experience.

He has participated in the casting process of numerous films, including serving as casting manager for the Oscar-winning Son of Saul. He wrote and directed the short film Quieter Outside. He is also a novelist; his first novel, The First Man of the Last Years, is available at Írók Boltja. He is currently working on his second novel.

A businessman with several decades of experience. He is responsible for negotiations with Hungarian and international partners, building sponsorship and strategic relationships, and supporting the work of the producers.

Composer for several award-winning short films, as well as a music producer and sound engineer. He studied Electronic Music and Media Arts at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music.

THE DIRECTOR’S VISION

To me, KONEKT is a story about confronting one’s own past and learning to reclaim one’s identity in a world that constantly seeks to shape it. I have always been interested in what happens when someone realizes that they cannot escape their memories—they can only learn to live with them.

Eszter’s journey is close to me because I have experienced in my own life what it means to first tear down the walls that survival has built before real growth can begin. The film is about this inner journey: the moment when a person stops running and instead immerses themselves in their own story.

For me, the central message is that freedom does not come from erasing the past, but from learning to process it, reinterpret it, and ultimately take ownership of it. In the world of KONEKT, this is made tangible through a futuristic technological framework: the VR space is not an escape, but a reflective surface where every decision and every wound becomes part of the soul’s canvas.

What makes my approach distinctive is the fusion of intimate human drama with high-concept science fiction. I envision the film as an emotionally raw yet visually hypnotic experience, in which the character’s internal journey is just as important as the world-building. Technology is not the point—the human being is, and the moment when they finally find the courage to face themselves.

Konekt is not just a film, it is a carefully constructed creative and technical endeavor that has been maturing over several years.

Development

2022. October - 2025. December

This phase focused on laying the creative foundations of the story, visual world, and characters, including script development, concept art, test shoots, and exploring the dynamics between the characters.

Pre-production

2026. January - 2026. June

Over the course of this 8 month phase, the film undergoes full-scale preparation: casting, location scouting, visual design, crew building, and finalizing the production plan to ensure a smooth shooting process.

Shooting (in progress)

Filming will take place over an intensive 3–4 week period across multiple locations. Carefully planned scenes will bring to life the creative visions, the Konektahedron, Eszter’s consciousness journeys, and the hybrid digital-historical world.

Post-production

2026. July - 2027. March

This is where raw footage becomes a finished film. Editing, color grading, sound design, music, visual effects, and VR elements all come together to create Konekt’s unique atmosphere and visual identity.

2027. April - 2027. September

The film will be submitted to national and international festivals – especially those focused on sci-fi, drama, and independent cinema – to reach industry audiences and open new doors through recognition and awards.

Private premiere

2027. September

Supporters will be the first to enter the world of Konekt during an exclusive screening, followed by a special event including a Q&A session, roundtable discussion, and wine tasting.

Konekt will first be released in cinemas, followed by availability on streaming platforms a few weeks later. The aim is to reach an international audience – particularly fans of science fiction and thought-provoking drama.
